Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our Grand Rapids team. You will design, plan, and oversee a variety of residential and commercial projects, using cutting-edge technology to ensure safety and sustainability. This is a permanent, on-site role with opportunities to lead design efforts and coordinate with multiple disciplines.

You will bring a Civil Engineering degree, a P.E. license, and at least five years of hands-on site development experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil or structural engineering, with a focus on site development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D is essential.
• Strong understanding of erosion control, shoring, and drainage.

Responsibilities

• Develop design ideas using AutoCAD 3D, considering client requirements and environmental impacts.
• Ensure designs are robust, efficient, and meet safety and sustainability standards.
• Conduct site investigations to gather data for planning and design.
• Work on erosion control to minimize environmental impact of projects.
• Develop detailed designs for site development, including drainage and shoring.
• Prepare reports, designs, and drawings, explaining engineering concepts to clients and non-engineers.
• Liaise with architects, surveyors, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Monitor project progress from concept to completion according to design and specs.
• Stay up-to-date with latest engineering developments and apply them to work.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Structural Engineer to join our thriving team. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects, ensuring that structures are safe and capable of withstanding the elements. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential developments to commercial structures, using cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Develop design ideas using AutoCAD 3D, considering the client’s requirements and the project’s potential environmental impacts.
2. Ensure that all designs are robust, efficient, and meet the highest standards of safety and sustainability.
3. Conduct site investigations to gather data for planning and design.
4. Work on erosion control, ensuring that the environmental impact of our projects is minimized.
