Direct experience in material joining and material properties preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate potential applications for friction welding.
Research and develop new processes.
Determine weld parameters and machine settings based on materials and geometry.
Prepare metallurgical samples and assess metallurgy.
Recommend component redesigns to optimize welding design.
Determine material and equipment requirements for jobs.
Prepare proposals and quotations for feasibility studies and production welding.
Serve as technical contact for all weld development efforts.
Evaluate quality and modify process parameters as needed.
Prepare technical documentation for new programs or product launches.
