Structural Engineer (Bridge) PE

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Structural Engineer (Bridge) PE at our Dallas office. This position may also be located in Dallas or Austin, TX. This full-time structural position is within our transportation group and also provides the opportunity to support other disciplines on an as needed basis. HZ's portfolio includes prestressed, post-tensioned and conventionally reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structures.

Required Registration: PE License

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Responsibilities:

• Perform technical and managerial tasks based on experience
• Apply established methods and procedures according to criteria
• Prepare calculations following design codes and standard practices
• Design and prepare plans and specifications for bridges and transportation structures
• Manage project scope, fees, and subconsultants
• Support business development efforts
• Collaborate with clients, owners, and other disciplines
• Mentor junior engineers
• Implement Huitt-Zollars' Quality Management Plans

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively with project teams and lead tasks to ensure success
• Adhere to HZ QMS and quality initiatives
• Maintain current technical knowledge and skills
• Support administrative and project tasks as needed
• Complete tasks on time, within budget, and with high quality
• Propose improvements for task efficiency
• Lead and execute project tasks effectively

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas; ability to obtain in other states
• Proficiency with TxDOT design guidelines and relevant software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, RISA, STADD)
• Experience with transportation and highway projects
• Strong team leadership and communication skills
