Job summary

Client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join the team in New Jersey, contributing to planning, design, and execution of complex structural steel and heavy construction projects.

The role offers collaboration with project managers, estimators, fabrication, and field operations to deliver safe, cost-effective engineering solutions from concept to completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with AISC Steel Construction Manual and applicable design codes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for structural steel systems.
  • Design temporary and permanent steel structures for commercial, industrial, bridge, and heavy construction projects.
  • Develop connection designs and structural calculations.
  • Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Review fabrication and erection drawings for engineering accuracy.
  • Coordinate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and field personnel.
  • Provide engineering support during fabrication and construction.
  • Respond to RFIs and assist with engineering revisions.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, AISC, OSHA, and project specifications.
  • Participate in project planning and value engineering initiatives.

As an AISC-certified fabricator and steel erector with nearly a century of experience, my client has helped deliver landmark projects throughout the Northeast and across the United States.

We're looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of complex structural steel and heavy construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced construction professionals while solving real-world engineering challenges from concept through completion.

What You'll Do

As a Structural Engineer, you'll collaborate with project managers, estimators, fabrication, and field operations to develop safe, practical, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of structural steel design
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D, RAM, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar
  • Working knowledge of AISC Steel Construction Manual and applicable design codes
Preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Experience with heavy steel construction, bridge structures, crane support systems, or industrial facilities
  • Connection design experience
  • Familiarity with fabrication and erection practices
  • Experience working with AISC-certified fabrication or erection operations
