Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a fully remote role supporting projects across MI, OH, and IN. You will lead the design and delivery of complex structural projects from concept through completion, with emphasis on concrete and steel systems.

You’ll prepare calculations, reviews, and documentation while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and communicating with clients, agencies, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain additional state registrations as needed OR EIT
  • Strong experience with structural design specifically with concrete and steel
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory considerations.
  • Proven ability to develop practical design solutions for complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with clients and public agencies.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the design and delivery of complex structural engineering projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop design alternatives that consider technical requirements, constructability, permitting, community needs, and regulatory constraints.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate technical, financial, and project management requirements.
  • Work directly with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other project stakeholders to resolve complex issues and advance projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other team members.
  • Collaborate with structural design professionals across multiple offices and states to share expertise and develop innovative solutions.
  • Take an active role in project planning and overall project execution.
