Onsite at East Hartford, occasional travel may be involved. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or a master's) and have 2 years of related experience, with a preference for rotordynamics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field, with 2 years of experience, or a Master's degree.
• Experience with structural engineering fundamentals, load calculations, and vibrations.
• Experience with finite element analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute structural analyses with moderate direction from experienced engineers.
• Evaluate changes for structural and dynamic impacts.
• Analyze system-level vibratory responses to damaging modes.
• Generate high-fidelity mechanical load solutions for primary structures.
• Support engine test with predictive analysis.
• Assist root cause investigations of abnormal vibration and loads events.
• Identify opportunities for automation and error-proofing in analysis processes.
• Collaborate with RTX colleagues to improve tools and reduce analysis time.
