Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structural Designer II in Plano, TX to support heavy industrial equipment and ducting design. You will build 3D models, fabrication drawings, and material take-offs while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.

With 3–5 years of relevant experience, you’ll design hot exhaust ducting and structural platework, ensuring accuracy for procurement and fabrication, and addressing thermal expansion and loading requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of industrial structural or mechanical design experience.
• Experience designing heavy industrial equipment or ducting.
• Strong 3D modeling and fabrication drawing skills.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models and fabrication drawings for heavy industrial equipment and ducting systems.
• Design hot exhaust and flue gas ducting components and related structural platework.
• Develop drawings for customer review, procurement, and fabrication.
• Incorporate thermal expansion, temperatures, and mechanical loads per guidance from engineers.
• Coordinate ducting layouts with associated equipment (SCRs, baghouses, ESPs, dampers).
• Review project specs, identify missing information, and resolve conflicts or discrepancies.
• Perform geometric and material quantity calculations (lengths, areas, volumes, weights, angles).
• Revise models/drawings after reviews and feedback; maintain document control.
