Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking a Structural Designer II to perform routine design of less complex civil/structural assignments in Decatur, AL. The role supports larger projects under close supervision and requires drafting concrete and structural steel drawings to company CAD standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of relevant drafting experience, familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation, and solid communication skills to collaborate with field teams and project task groups.

Qualifications

• Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel, and civil disciplines.
• Familiarity with specifications and details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
• Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.
• Gaining proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Draft civil/structural plans under close supervision.
• Assist in design of larger civil/structural assignments.
• Familiar with project scope, specs and design criteria.
• Ensure drawings reflect material purchase, fabrication and construction needs.
• Communicate scope and design changes promptly.
