Actalent in Brookfield, CT seeks a Structural Designer to perform analysis, design, drafting, and field observations on residential, commercial, and specialty projects. Work spans office and site involvement, delivering code‑compliant structural solutions.

You will collaborate with licensed engineers, contribute to project teams, and grow professionally through mentorship and exposure to diverse materials and codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus.
• 3+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience designing building structures (residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial).
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and building design principles.

Responsabilités

• Perform structural analysis and design for custom residential, commercial, renovation, and new construction projects.
• Design structural systems utilizing structural steel, cold‑formed steel, lumber and engineered wood products, masonry, aluminum systems, concrete foundations, retaining walls.
• Develop safe, efficient, and cost‑effective structural solutions meeting client needs and project objectives.
• Support specialty structural engineering projects for steel fabricators and custom structural applications.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations to document existing structural conditions.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, plans, and construction documents using AutoCAD.
