Job summary

Atlantic Partners Corporation is seeking a design professional to assist with building component projects. The role involves analyzing component configurations, calculating pressures and deflections per codes, and evaluating materials for safe, efficient designs.

You will design drawings, specs, and models using AutoCAD and related software, collaborating with clients and engineers across the US. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with time at our flagship office near FAU.

Qualifications

  • College-level engineering education preferred.
  • Experience with building components or willingness to learn.
  • Familiar with Florida/IBC or eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze configurations of basic structural components per codes.
  • Calculate pressures, moments, shear and deflection.
  • Evaluate materials to inform design decisions.
  • Liaise between clients, engineers and designers.
  • Create drawings, calculations, specs and models.
  • Use AutoCAD, Excel and FEA tools for simulations.
  • Document repetitive calculations to improve reuse.
  • Develop new ideas and improve existing systems.
  • Assist other designers on complex projects.
  • Advance engineering with AI-based tools for the team.

We are looking for a designer to assist with designing building component projects. The ideal candidates are committed to excellence and continuously outperform themselves. You will utilize and advance skills in aluminum, wood, steel, concrete, glass, product evaluations, project management, and more, and all across the US for wind, snow, seismic & special conditions, truly one-of-a-kind opportunity all centered around technology & innovation.

The position is hybrid, spending flexible time in our flagship office near FAU.

A sneak preview of your responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:

  • Analyze configurations of basic structural components of a building component in one of our key departments.
  • Calculate each component’s pressures, moments, shear, and deflection per proper building codes.
  • Evaluate various materials to see how they will affect the structure and design accordingly.
  • Serves as liaison between clients, engineers, and other designers to agree on methods to design safe components.
  • Design drawings, calculations, specifications, and computer models for our clients.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Excel, and custom & finite element analysis programs for simulation purposes.
  • Document repetitive calculations and create a process for systemized re-use with the end goal of making the process more efficient.
  • Develop new ideas and systems and analyze and improve existing ones.
  • Assist other designers in complex projects or as needed.
  • Advance our engineering industry using innovative AI based tools created by and for our team.

Requirements:

  • Sills & Abilities Needed For The Position
  • College-level experience or degree in engineering, applied engineering, or similar technical education preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Sharepoint, & Outlook)
  • 0-1+ years of experience in a position that designs building components or related industries (or prove you’re willing to put the time in to learn).
  • Self-driven who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic-Intermediate knowledge of engineering blueprints; understanding of Florida / International Building Codes or eager to learn.
  • Ability to work fully remote but in a team with staff.
  • Mechanical or Civil Degrees with structural interest are welcome.
