Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Structural Designer to support large-scale energy infrastructure projects across North America. The role focuses on structural design for energy generation, transmission, and substations, collaborating with civil, structural, geotechnical, and construction teams.

You will develop 2D/3D models, produce detailed drawings, and contribute to construction documentation while applying design standards and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years drafting experience in civil/structural.
• 2+ years’ CAD/design experience in electric/power utility.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing.
• Familiarity with ASTM, AISC and ACI standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 2D & 3D models of structural framing and reinforced concrete.
• Produce detailed design drawings including plans, elevations, and 3D models.
• Work on structural and foundation design aspects from inception to completion.
• Interface with project teams and learn new software to deliver deliverables.
• Communicate across teams to prevent design conflicts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist engineers in reviewing structural fabrication and reinforcement drawings.
