Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Civil/Structural designer to support nuclear, security and environmental projects. You will develop and check complex drawings for concrete and steel, coordinating with multiple disciplines to meet codes and project requirements.

Responsibilities include modeling, design reviews, and ensuring high-quality outputs; strong organizational and teamwork skills are essential for success across Oak Ridge, Knoxville, Reston and other locations.

Qualifications

• Experience with Bechtel CAD tools and Tekla Structures.
• Tekla Structures model exchange with Revit and S3D knowledge.
• Civil/structural design experience for heavy industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with AISC, ACI, UBC, OSHA codes and materials.
• Ability to independently deliver detailed structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Originate and check complex civil/structural deliverables, including drawings.
• Verify structural steel and concrete forming designs.
• Interpret/verify industry codes for project deliverables.
• Report design quantities vs estimates.
• Plan and schedule drawings and 3-D models with team.
• Participate in design/model and constructability reviews.
• Integrate vendor information into the design solution.
• Coordinate with other disciplines as an integrated team.
• Maintain high quality while meeting schedule requirements.
