Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Reston, VA seeks an experienced Electrical Designer for large-scale projects in Nuclear, Security & Environmental domains. You will plan, develop, and review electrical design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project.

You will coordinate with clients, lead technical discussions, review electrical drawings and bid summaries, solve complex technical issues, and ensure designs comply with NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Requires AA/AS or CAD certificate with 7–8 years of experience, or 9–12 years of related work if no degree.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Experience leading designers and interfacing with construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical designers and drafters to produce layouts, study drawings, and 2D/3D CAD models.
• Design raceways, equipment locations, C&R inputs, and lighting/layout drawings.
• Prepare drawings and documentation for construction; ensure compliance with codes.
• Coordinate with clients, review drawings, and manage bid summaries.
• Perform AGI32 lighting calculations and ETAP grounding layouts.
