Job Description
Responsibilities and requirements:
- 5+ years experience with structural steel detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs, and working drawings, including necessary projections, sectional views, and standard specifications.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD (2D), Autodesk Inventor (3D), and Vault.
- Develop BOMs and maintain drawing status/revision history in a fast-paced shop fabrication environment.
- Interpret verbal or written directions to initiate preliminary designs.
- Perform basic calculations and trigonometry functions related to area, slope (rise & run), etc., using charts and tables to complete client’s scope of work.
- Apply applicable company design standards.
- Check and verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by clients and contractors.
- Revise drawings and BOMs in response to engineering changes.
- Assemble information and reference drawings from various sources.
- Continuously seek product improvements and cost reductions.
- Recognize scope changes and assess their impact on cost and schedule.
- Maintain proper file management according to industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop drawing transmittals for IFA / IFC processes.
- Create plate nesting reports for laser operations (Sigma Nest).
- Create length nesting reports for saw cutting (EJE).
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree from a technical institution preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks acceptable), and Vault.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / MS Teams.
- Familiar with weld symbology and structural steel drawing practices.

- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
