Job summary

Technosoft Engineering is seeking an experienced draftsman/designer to develop piping and plant layouts using Revit. You will build 3D models, create assemblies, and produce production drawings while coordinating with other teams.

The role requires knowledge of piping layouts, equipment systems, and relevant codes (NEC, IEC, ASME). A strong attention to detail and the ability to work under supervision are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience with weldments, pipe routing, and piping skids in Revit.
• Experience with package/plant designs and layouts.
• Knowledge of TAS equipment codes (NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, OSHA).
• Ability to produce production-level drawings under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interprets diagrams, layouts, BOMs and GA drawings for packaged equipment systems.
• Maintains drafting production schedules and ensures accuracy of deliverables.
• Creates 3D models, assemblies and BOMs in Revit; generates sections and views.
• Performs design reviews and supports department processes and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interprets piping and instrument diagrams, site layouts, equipment layouts, piping plan drawings, process flow diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and GA drawings with respect to packaged equipment system designs
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other designers and departments
• Maintains drafting production schedule for different types of drawings along with ensuring accuracy of deliverables
• Creates 3D models and layouts including mating surfaces, finding correct library parts, performing extrusions, creating assemblies, exploded view diagrams with BOM’s
• Produces layouts and section views with BOM’s, callouts, and dimensions
• Reviews scope documents and specifications for verification of design against the design intent and customer requirements
• Demonstrates ability execute designs on basic projects
• Conducts model reviews per department processes with assistance
• Supports the desired culture and work environment of the department
• Executes the design process per department processes

Job Skills

• Experience with weldments, pipe routing, and designing skids and piping in Revit
• Experience in package/plant designs and layouts with broad knowledge of technical applications, maintenance, operation, and clearance constraints of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems
• Knowledgeable of codes typically applicable to TAS equipment including NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes etc.
• A self-starter and highly skilled designer capable of performing all design and modeling tasks required for delivering production level drawings to purchasing and production departments with limited direction

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience designing in Revit (pipe routing, skids, weldments)
• Experience with Solid Works, Microsoft Office Suites, Google Docs
• Capable of producing package/plant designs and layouts with basic knowledge of technical applications, maintenance, operation, and clearance constraints of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems
• Mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls design experience
• Awareness of codes typically applicable to TAS equipment including NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes etc.
• Capable of performing most design and Solid Works modelling tasks required for delivering production level drawings to purchasing and production departments under direction or supervision of senior designers and engineers.
