Job summary

WOODS • PEACOCK Engineering Consultants, Inc. seeks a Full-Time Structural Designer with 0–4 years’ experience. The role focuses on analysis, design, and documentation of building structures and coordination with architects and engineers. Office-based with occasional remote work after probation.

Requirements include a BSCE/BAE/BSAE or equivalent, EIT or pursuing licensure, and strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in civil/architectural engineering with structural focus (BSCE/BAE/BSAE).
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • EIT license or pursuit of licensure is preferred.
  • Able to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and design of structural systems for building materials per IBC/IEBC/ASCE/AISC/ACI/UFC.
  • Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions.
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers from other disciplines.
  • Review existing structural systems.
  • Prepare drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Review submittals, assist in construction observation, and respond to contractor inquiries.

Projects are assigned based on your ability, strengths, and motivation.

Position:
  • Full-Time Structural Designer
  • 0 to 4 years of experience in structural engineering
Location:
  • In Office (occasional remote work after probationary period)
Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes and standards (i.e. IBC, IEBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, UFC)
  • Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions
  • Communicate and coordinate with architects and engineers of other disciplines
  • Review and evaluate existing building structural systems
  • Prepare drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Write technical reports
  • Review construction submittals, participate in construction observation, and respond to contractor inquiries
Required Qualifications:
  • Able to work freely in the US now and in the future without sponsorship
  • Degree Requirements:
    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (BAE), or Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or equivalent, with coursework specialized towards structural engineering
    • Master’s Degree a plus
  • Registered EIT or in pursuit of EIT license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational, time-management, and team skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to be challenged and develop new skills

  • Software Experience: Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams), AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, MathCAD
