Job summary

CHM Industries, Inc. is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department in the United States.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will develop engineering proposals and oversee the final design of steel pole products, while leading continuous improvement of processes that shape engineering output. You will design transmission structures such as monopoles, H-frames, and 3-pole configurations, perform calculations, and ensure proposals meet customer specifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in civil, structural, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
• Proficiency with PLS-POLE and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to drive results.

Responsibilities

• Design steel pole transmission structures (monopoles, H-frames, 3-pole structures).
• Perform design calculations using in-house spreadsheets and software.
• Deliver accurate proposals and projects on schedule.
• Review calculations/drawings for customer standards and codes.
• Prepare design packages and verify project requirements.
• Support sales with technical input on quotes and opportunities.
• Train sales staff on applying engineering principles in sales and product applications.
• Improve the design manual, drawings, and best practices.
• Build cross-functional relationships within the company.
