Job summary

Race Rock Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the Engineered Structures team in developing proposals and final engineered designs for utility steel poles. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and targets ownership of pole transmission structure design, with a path to build an in-house engineering capability.

The ideal candidate is a licensed PE with 4+ years of relevant experience, proficient in PLS-POLE and Excel, and capable of coordinating with internal teams and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 4+ years of experience in structural design/analysis of utility structures.
• Experience with steel pole structural design.
• Experience detailing utility steel pole components.
• Proficiency with PLS-POLE and Excel.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design steel pole transmission structures up to 765 kV.
• Prepare design packages and verify project requirements.
• Oversee calculations, drawings, and seal final submittals.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of proposals.
• Manage designs for key customers.
• Review work of junior engineers.
• Improve design manuals, drawings, and best practices.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, drafting, manufacturing, and operations.
