Nucor Corporation is seeking a talented structural design engineer for the Vulcraft Indiana plant in St Joe, IN. You will design safe, cost-effective open-web steel joists, girders, and deck while coordinating with estimating, sales, detailing, project management, finance, production and shipping to deliver successful projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing contracts, communicating design requirements, using design software, meeting with engineers/architects in the Midwest, and visiting job

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed before start date.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and extract key information.
• Communicate unique design requirements to detailing department.
• Use design software to safely/accurately design open-web steel joists and joist girders.
• Collaborate with estimating, sales, detailing, project management, finance, production and shipping.
• Meet with engineers and architects in the Midwest market to discuss product advantages.
• Visit job sites to understand construction processes.
