Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is looking for an engineer to assist in ensuring sound engineering designs of products through all stages of development. The ideal candidate will be involved in designing steel joists and girders according to mandatory standards and interpreting contract documents.

A degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structures is essential, along with strong communication skills. Preferred candidates will have prior experience in structural design and an understanding of applicable codes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering ideally with emphasis in structures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• PE or EIT in pursuit of PE licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering department in ensuring sound engineering design of product.
• Design steel joists, joist girders, and steel decking.
• Interpret contract documents and communicate with architects and engineers.
