Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group West LLC in Lathrop, CA is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to design metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and bracing. You will ensure safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness across projects.

You will use proprietary frame and panel analysis software, collaborate with the Detailing Department, review drawings for accuracy, and pursue continuous learning within the division.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam prior to hire.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design all aspects of metal building systems: structural steel, wall/roof panels, secondary members, and bracing.
• Use proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis.
• Collaborate with the Detailing Department to communicate design requirements.
• Review structural drawings for accuracy.
• Pursue continuous learning and cross-training within the division.
