Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join a growing team supporting construction through innovative design, calculations, and planning. You will help design foundations, equipment platforms, and concrete/steel structures while mitigating risk for safe field execution.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Eng degree with a structural focus, 2–4 years in nuclear or industrial settings, and proficiency in Staad Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA, spMats, and Mathcad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) required.
• 2–4 years of relevant Nuclear/Power/Industrial experience preferred.
• EIT or PE certification recommended or required as applicable.
• Familiar with IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC design codes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate structural calculations under supervision.
• Analyze data, identify relationships, and draw conclusions.
• Present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Use structural software to design buildings, foundations, and platforms.
• Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and supporting docs.
• Ensure designs follow applicable codes and standards.
