Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Senior Structural Estimating Department Manager in Lenexa, KS to lead and mentor a team of estimating professionals for complex industrial, energy, infrastructure, and nuclear projects.

You will drive consistency, quality, and collaboration across engineering, construction, procurement, and project management, shaping strategies for diverse delivery methods including Design-Build and EPC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Structural Estimator.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong ability to review drawings, plans, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, mentor, and develop a team of structural estimating engineers and estimators.
• Establish departmental goals, staffing plans, and performance expectations.
• Oversee preparation and coordination of structural estimates for large, complex projects.
• Manage workloads, resource allocation, and proposal support across multiple pursuits.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of all deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance on takeoffs, pricing strategies, and estimate methodologies.
