Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group West LLC in Lathrop, CA is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to design metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, and secondary members. You will apply our proprietary analysis software for frame, bracing, crane, mezzanine and panel checks, while ensuring code compliance and safe, economical structures.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam prior to hire date.
Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Design all aspects of metal building systems: structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing.
Use proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity.
Collaborate with the Detailing Department and other teams to communicate design requirements and ensure project execution.
Review and verify structural drawings for accuracy.
Pursue continuous learning and growth across divisions to explore innovative engineering solutions.
