Job summary

Progressive Companies in Charlotte, NC is seeking a licensed structural engineer to take ownership of the structural design on projects and ensure code compliance. You will produce calculations, models, and construction documents and coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to resolve technical conflicts.

You will also manage the work plan, schedule, and budget, document site conditions, and oversee construction administration while mentoring junior staff and guiding design

Responsibilities

• Take engineering responsibility for the structural design of projects.
• Produce calculations, models, and documents the building gets built from.
• Make the code and standards calls on your own judgment.
• Build the structural work plan and manage the schedule and budget.
• Coordinate the structural scope with the rest of the project team.
• Document existing conditions in the field and set the analytical approach.
• Run construction administration with minimal oversight.
• Review junior staff work and mentor design staff.
