Job summary

Progressive Companies is seeking an entry-level structural engineer to develop models and construction documents for diverse projects in Charlotte, NC. You will run calculations and translate design intent into fully detailed drawings and specs.

You will collaborate with architects and consultants, review work for accuracy, and prepare documents that align with firm standards while pursuing licensure through the FE exam.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural modeling and documentation.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD for building models.
• Familiarity with structural calculations and load paths.
• Interest in FE exam licensure path.

Responsibilities

• Build the structural models and construction documents for assigned projects.
• Run the structural calculations behind the design using RISA, RAM, and hand calculations.
• Turn the engineer's design intent into detailing that can be built.
• Review your calculations, models, and drawings for accuracy and flag inconsistencies.
• Coordinate the structural work with architects, other in-house disciplines, and outside consultants.
• Draft project specifications that match drawings and firm standards.
• Sit for the FE exam and pursue licensure requirements as the next steps.
• Learn quickly by asking questions and taking correction well.
