Job summary

LJB Inc. is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer for its Buildings Practice in Charlotte, NC. The role involves analyzing, designing, planning and creating structural components to meet client goals.

Responsibilities include completing structural calculations for systems, assisting with construction documents, and coordinating with design staff. Opportunity to grow toward a Project Manager role with regional travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering with structural emphasis required.
• The ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license within four years is desired.
• CAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred) STRAP or other structural analysis software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ability to complete structural calculations for structural systems including superstructures, foundations, and floor slabs.
• Assists with the preparation of construction documents needed for vertical building structures.
• Coordinates with design staff to ensure accurate document and drawing production.
• Communicates with the team and clients regarding project issues and attends meetings under the direction of a supervisor.
• Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training.
