Job summary

LVI Associates in Salt Lake City and Denver seeks a Design Engineer to work on a variety of building projects and develop technical expertise in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include structural analysis and design for commercial and institutional projects, collaborating with licensed engineers, selecting systems, preparing calculations, and coordinating with architectural and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• EIT required; PE licensure being pursued highly desirable.
• Approximately 4+ years of structural building design experience.
• Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood systems; familiarity with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and institutional projects.
• Collaborate with internal project teams under licensed engineers.
• Assist in selecting structural systems and preparing construction details.
• Develop calculations, specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate work across architectural and engineering disciplines.
• Support construction administration (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings).
• Conduct site visits and produce observation reports.
• Contribute to large-scale projects and assist senior engineers.
• Participate in client coordination and internal knowledge sharing.
