Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or master's in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• 0-5 years of internship or full-time experience required.
• Strong interest in structural engineering design & analysis of heavy civil structures.
• Experience in design of heavy civil structures (bridges, piers, wharves, etc.).
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) encouraged.
• Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, or Bluebeam.
• Drafting software: AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit encouraged.
• Structural design software: Mathcad, Tekla Tedds, Enercalc, Risa 3D, STAAD, DeepEX, SPW911, BrR, Hilti Profis encouraged.
• Strong technical verbal and writing skills; read technical literature and plans.

Responsibilities

• Performs structural engineering computations according to standards.
• Provides technical expertise to ensure compliance with codes and specs.
• Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field/design issues.
• Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.
• Demonstrates proficiency in CAD/engineering software to prepare design documents.
• Makes design recommendations and adaptations.
• Manages engineering projects of varying size and complexity per plans.
• Adheres to budgets and timelines; informs PM of scope changes.
• Attends client meetings or events outside normal hours.
• Observes safety practices.
