Job summary

gpac LLC. is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our growing team in Chicago. You will participate in every phase of projects from preliminary design to construction support, solving complex challenges with multidisciplinary collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of structural engineering experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA, STAAD.Pro, or ETABS, and a strong grasp of IBC and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
• Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Develop designs utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry.
• Perform structural analysis using industry-standard engineering software.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the design process.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction-phase support.
• Conduct occasional field visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
