Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) VC-25B and B-52 Structures teams seek a highly motivated, capable, and quick-learning Contract Structures Design Engineer to support the team as a Level 3 Design Engineer (6G5C - 647). The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical systems or structural design and the ability to collaborate across dispersed teams.

This 4-month contract is 100% onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials Sciences.
• 2+ years of engineering experience.
• Intermediate CATIA and Enovia skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, integrates, and documents mechanical and structural payload system requirements to establish the system design.
• Develops, maintains, and manages mechanical and structural designs using 3-D CAD tools to provide product definition across lifecycle.
• Performs tests to validate that systems meet requirements and specifications.
• Leads supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinates with suppliers to optimize design.
• Leads investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs.
• Communicates technical information with Boeing teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory delegates.
• Develops repairs, creates 3D printed test parts, and collaborates with machine shops to rapidly produce test parts.
• Builds strong relationships with production teams to ensure program success.

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) VC-25B and B-52 Structures teams are seeking a highly motivated, capable, and quick-learning Contract Structures Design Engineer to support the team as a Level 3 Design Engineer (6G5C - 647). The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical systems or structural design, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with various geographically dispersed teams.

Position Responsibilities

• Develops, integrates, and documents mechanical and structural payload system requirements to establish the system design.
• Develops, maintains, and manages mechanical and structural system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Performs tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Leads supplier development, test, and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
• Leads investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
• Clearly communicates technical information with Boeing teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory delegates to certify and produce a product.
• Develops new repairs, creates 3d printed test parts for part validation and collaborates with local machine shops to rapidly produce repair parts for the test article.
• Building strong relationships with the production teams that produce test parts for the test article is vital to the success of the program.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
• 2+ years of engineering experience.
• Intermediate CATIA and Enovia Skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Aerospace Structures Engineering
• Experience with IVT and REDARs
• Experience with CMPRO
• Experience with collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
• Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
