United Trades of America is seeking talented Structural Design Engineers to join our growing team for multiple onshore nuclear and heavy concrete building projects along the East Coast. If you have a solid engineering foundation and a passion for working on mission-critical infrastructure, we want to hear from you.
Position Overview
This role involves performing intermediate-complexity structural engineering assignments under the direct supervision of Discipline or Area Lead Engineers. You will contribute technical expertise to ensure design integrity, code compliance, and project success in a collaborative, multidisciplinary EPC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and recommend technical solutions to intermediate complexity problems consistent with project requirements
Develop and review design criteria, specifications, and engineering calculations
Coordinate with project management, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
Support procurement and construction phases by reviewing vendor submittals and responding to RFIs
Maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, quality plans, and federal/state/local codes
Provide material quantity reporting, analysis, and forecasts
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural design, preferably in EPC projects
Working knowledge of applicable codes including DOE orders
Proficiency with STAADPro, RISA3D, Mathcad, and 3D/2D CADD tools
Effective communication skills across teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with nuclear facility design under ASME NQA-1 standards
Practical field experience and knowledge of EPC processes
Experience in DOE or federal government projects
Compensation
$80,000 to $110,000 per year, DOE (depending on experience)
