Job summary

HCL seeks a Senior Engineering Leader to guide technical direction, financial performance, and long-term growth of the engineering department. A PE license with 14+ years of experience is required, with a track record of delivering complex projects and building client relationships.

You will mentor leaders, shape strategy, and ensure the department operates with technical excellence and business performance. Lead a high-performing team and protect quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer with 14+ years of experience.
• Proven ability to lead engineers, PMs, and designers.
• Strong financial management and budgeting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to foster accountability and collaboration.
• Own the financial performance and profitability of all projects in your department.
• Develop and manage department budgets, staffing plans, and utilization targets.
• Make go/no-go decisions on opportunities and assign projects strategically.
• Ensure projects meet technical, quality, budget, and schedule standards.
• Oversee billing, AR, and margin protection across the department.
• Strengthen client relationships and pursue repeat and new work opportunities.
• Implement department objectives aligned with firm-wide strategy.
• Support contract development and negotiations with executive leadership.
• Champion continuing education and professional growth within your team.
