Job summary

New Millennium, a subsidiary of Steel Dynamics, Inc., is seeking a Detailer to review structural contract drawings, interpret loading diagrams, and apply load requirements to steel joists and girders for non-residential projects. You will coordinate with fabricators, erectors, and engineers, create placement plans and Bills of Material, and ensure production aligns with contract drawings.

Ideal candidates have experience in steel detailing or related drafting, plus familiarity with 2D/3D CAD

Qualifications

Experience in joist/girder/deck or structural steel detailing.
Reading and interpreting drawings, sections, specifications and other construction related documents.
Experience on projects from concept to production.
2D or 3D CAD software knowledge.

Responsibilities

Review structural contract drawings and specifications for non-residential building projects.
Interpret loading diagrams and apply load requirements to joists and girders.
Analyze connections of joists/girders to supporting members.
Coordinate with trades to incorporate needs into designs.
Create placement plans, sections, and details for review and erection.
Create Bills of Material for joists, girders, and deck.
Coordinate with customers, erectors, GC's and Engineer of Record to ensure quality and schedule.
