Job summary

New Millennium is seeking a detailer to prepare joist and deck layout plans and sections using AutoCAD, coordinating with customers, steel detailers and engineers. You will calculate loads based on contract documents and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring schedules are met.

Ideal candidates have CAD-related education or experience and strong communication skills, with the ability to work in 3D space using 2D drawings.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent with AutoCAD.
• Ability to visualize how elements fit together in 3D when working with 2D drawings.
• Willingness to go beyond typical duties to assist co-workers and customers.
• CAD related degrees and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare joist and deck layout plans and sections using AutoCAD.
• Prepare RFI’s and coordinate project details with customers, steel detailers, engineers and others.
• Calculate joist and girder loading based on design loading provided on contract documents.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced, production driven environment.
• Meet schedules for assigned projects.
• Other duties as necessary.
