About the Role

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer in various locations. You will work collaboratively to design, manage, and deliver transportation structural engineering projects for local and nationwide clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mentor and manage Transportation Structural Team staff, ensuring quality control and assurance.
2. Serve as Engineer-of-Record, leading design projects for bridges and related structures.
3. Perform structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects.
4. Supervise structural design staff on various bridge projects, including steel, concrete, and other materials.
5. Manage client relationships, project scope, schedule, budget, and quality assurance.
6. Assist in preparing project proposals and statements of qualifications.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
2. Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
3. 8+ years of bridge engineering experience, including advanced typical structures.
4. Experience as Engineer-of-Record with hands-on design experience.
5. Proficiency with structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
6. Leadership and communication skills, team-oriented mindset.
7. Experience with IDOT and/or Tollway Facility Bridge projects (5+ years).

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with complex or railroad structures.
2. Masters in Structural Engineering.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
4. Project and client management skills.
5. NHI certification for Bridge Safety Inspection.
6. Familiarity with engineering software such as Bentley CONNECT, LEAP Bridge, RISA-3D, etc.
