About Farnsworth Group

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer in one of the following locations. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a team to design, manage, and deliver transportation structural engineering projects for local and nationwide clients.

Posting Locations: Belleville, IL; Bloomington, IL; Champaign, IL; Chicago, IL; Effingham, IL; Lisle, IL; Peoria, IL; Pontiac, IL; Springfield, IL; Tinley Park, IL; St. Louis, MO; Nashville, TN

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mentor, manage, and provide QC/QA for Transportation Structural Team staff.
2. Lead/perform designs as Engineer-of-Record for various bridge projects.
3. Perform structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects.
4. Supervise bridge design projects including steel, concrete, foundations, and other structural components.
5. Manage client relationships, project scope, schedule, budget, and quality assurance.
6. Provide QC/QA for structural designs and projects.
7. Assist in preparing project proposals and qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
2. Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
3. 8+ years of bridge engineering experience, including advanced structures.
4. Experience as Engineer-of-Record with comprehensive design skills.
5. Proficiency with structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
6. Leadership, communication skills, and team collaboration ability.
7. Experience working with IDOT and/or Tollway Facility Bridge projects (5+ years).

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with complex or railroad structures.
2. Master's in Structural Engineering.
3. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
4. Project and client management skills.
5. NHI certification for Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.
6. Familiarity with engineering software such as Bentley CONNECT, LEAP Bridge, RISA-3D, etc.

$100,000 - $150,000, based on experience and qualifications.
