Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Co-op to join the team in Boston, MA, starting January 2027. The role supports project engineers with design, analysis, inspections and reporting for bridge and tunnel projects, gaining hands-on experience in CAD, calculations and field observations.

You will work under senior engineers, develop engineering documents and learn through diverse assignments across transportation and building projects within a global infrastructure firm.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed two years of study.
• Experience with Excel and MS Word is preferred.
• Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD is a plus.
• Experience with MathCAD is a plus.
• Experience with modelling software is a plus.
• Having OSHA 10 hour is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with report writing and setup.
• Development of field forms.
• Assist with data entry, editing and creation of drawings and table/charts.
• Development of plans and details utilizing CAD.
• Development of engineering calculations utilizing examples and guidance of senior engineers.
• Field work involving hands on inspection of bridges, tunnels, and/or parking structures throughout Massachusetts. Documenting field observations and findings.
• Support senior and junior engineers with engineering related tasks.
