Job summary

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks a Structural BIM Technician for onsite positions in Cheyenne, WY; Denver, CO; Rapid City, SD; and Sioux Falls, SD. This full-time role involves drafting and modeling structures using BIM tools and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to produce detailed construction documents.

Qualifications

• Minimum associate’s degree in engineering/architectural drafting and/or directly related degree from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in BIM and CAD software (Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD).
• Interest in emerging technologies.
• Strong visualization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in collaborative team settings.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, and visual direction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
• Exposure to Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or other CAD/BIM software through education, internships, or previous work experience.
• Basic understanding of structural systems, including foundations, steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing.
• Familiarity with construction documents or structural engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other commonly used project-management or document-management software

Responsibilities

• Draft and model wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
• Produce plans, elevations, and details for facility projects.
• Visualize complex structures to ensure cross-discipline coordination.
• Curate and maintain BIM/CAD library and resources.
