Job summary

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, is seeking a Structural BIM Technician for onsite roles in Cheyenne, WY; Denver, CO; Rapid City, SD; and Sioux Falls, SD. This full-time, onsite position supports a multidisciplinary design team in drafting and modeling complex structures.

The role emphasizes Revit modeling, CAD work, and BIM library management, with opportunities to work with Forma and Bluebeam. Travel and driving may be required.

Qualifications

What you’ll be doing:

You will work primarily in Revit and have the opportunity to leverage Autodesk Forma, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu sessions to enhance your workflows. Qualifications

• Minimum associate’s degree in engineering/architectural drafting and/or directly related degree from an accredited institution
• Proficiency in BIM and CAD software (Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD)
• Interest in emerging technologies
• Strong visualization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in collaborative team settings
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, and visual direction
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Additional preferred experience/skills:

• Exposure to Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or other CAD/BIM software through education, internships, or previous work experience.
• Basic understanding of structural systems, including foundations, steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing.
• Familiarity with construction documents or structural engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other commonly used project-management or document-management software

Additional information - Position Expectations

The Entry-Level Structural BIM Technician will receive training and guidance in structural BIM production, Revit modeling, drafting standards, construction documentation, and project-specific procedures. The individual is expected to progressively develop the technical skills necessary to produce accurate structural models and drawings with increasing independence.
