Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector seeks a Manager Structural Engineering 2 to lead the analysis value stream for Reflectors & Booms in San Diego, onsite. Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in STEM with 7 years in engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership of an engineering team on structural analysis efforts.
• Experience in analysis engineering and leading analysis activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess structural integrity of metallic and composite structures using traditional closed-form solutions and FEA.
• Generate Finite Element Models and perform FEA for normal modes, linear static stress, dynamic response, thermo-elastic distortion, and hygroscopic distortion.
• Support development of flight hardware from preliminary through detailed design, drawing release, manufacturing, integration, verification testing, and transportation.
• Plan and oversee material characterization tests of various materials used in the design of composite structures.
• Prepare presentations summarizing structural assessment results for internal review boards and external customer design reviews.
• Lead and manage the analysis value stream, ensuring quality, schedule, and cost targets.
