Northrop Grumman Space Sector has an opening for a Structural Analysis Engineer - Level 2 to join our team in San Diego, California. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

As a Mechanical Analysis Engineer, you will develop and analyze composite components, assemblies, and test tooling. You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Test, and other Engineering functions to ensure successful execution and delivery of hardware.

Qualifications

• BS in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Experience with finite element modeling.
• Knowledge of structural analysis for aerospace structures containing metals, sandwich panels, composite materials, plastics and bonded joints.

Responsibilities

• Assess structural integrity of metallic and composite structures using finite element analysis (FEA).
• Interact with design and development teams to create design solutions meeting requirements.
• Generate Finite Element Models and perform FEA for normal modes, static, dynamic, thermal, and hygroscopic distortion.
