Job summary

Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Acute Stroke Unit. The ANM provides clinical care oversight and serves as main resource for nursing staff, mentoring and guiding day-to-day operations.

You will lead performance improvement, guide evidence-based practice, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient and family experience. Requires NY RN license; ASN required, BSN preferred, and 1–3 years RN experience.

Qualifications

• ASN is required; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• 1–3 years of RN experience.
• Certification in a specialty by a National Accrediting Organization.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based practice and identifies opportunities for performance improvement.
• Oversees nursing and non-nursing personnel on the unit and delegates tasks.
• Leads daily huddles and care team rounds to drive the plan of care and smooth patient transitions.
• Coordinates unit staffing, education needs, and performance appraisals with the Nurse Manager.
• Performs daily leader rounding and ensures patient comfort and safety on all shifts.
• Participates in audits and ongoing staff education as required.
