Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health Temple seeks a Stroke Program Coordinator to lead nursing program delivery, staff training, and quality improvement efforts. The role focuses on coordinating services, resolving issues, and enhancing patient care within a hospital environment.

Qualified candidates hold a Nursing degree, RN license, and 3+ years of nursing experience, with ER or high-acuity stroke exposure preferred. BLS certification within 30 days is expected; strong MS Office skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • At least 3 years of professional nursing experience.
  • Experience in ER or high-acuity stroke care preferred.
  • Current RN license; BLS within 30 days of employment if not certified.
  • Quality improvement experience and leadership capabilities encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and publicize nursing programs and trainings for staff.
  • Serve as liaison between the team, advisory committee, and facility management, including the marketing team.
  • Plan and review annual programs and activities.
  • Evaluate program efficacy through data collection and analysis.
  • Maintain program records, payroll, and financial summaries as needed.
  • Address patient concerns and ensure high quality patient care.
  • Manage medications per program protocols when requested by the physician.

Job Summary

A Program Coordinator Nurse uses nursing values to organize programs. They are a key contact for staff and oversee budgets. Responsibilities include organizing services, resolving issues, and improving patient care.

Essential Functions Of The Role
  • Orchestrating and publicizing programs, including delivering training and continuous learning opportunities for our team.
  • Acting as a conduit between the team, advisory committee, and facility management, including the marketing team.
  • Engaging in and coordinating the annual planning and review of programs.
  • Planning, conducting, and sharing evaluations of our program's efficacy.
  • Participating in the Advisory Committee and attending all its meetings.
  • Gathering and processing all results-related data promptly and accurately.
  • Enforcing ongoing quality improvement initiatives to meet the standards of relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Handling program-related correspondence and records, ensuring medical records are up-to-date, verifying patient charges, reconciling accounts, managing payroll, and evaluating financial summaries.
  • Handling patient concerns regarding our services, resolving these issues and documenting the resolution process.
  • Managing medication as per program protocols, when requested by the patient's doctor.

  • You need solid nursing and patient care knowledge, understanding laws, rules, standards, & guidelines.
  • Your social skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving are crucial for this role.
  • You must carefully monitor medical conditions and communicate effectively.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Have a minimum of (3) three years professional nursing experience
  • Highly prefer experience in ER, High Acuity Stroke care
  • Currently have or can get a BLS certification within 30 days of employment if not already certified.
  • RN
  • Highly prefer Quality Improvement Experience, Leadership and high level of MS Office competency
