Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Stroke Treatment & Recovery (STAR) unit in Newark, DE is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Nurse Manager in clinical and administrative activities, ensuring high-quality care for stroke and medical patients.

The ANM will supervise staff, participate in hiring decisions, mentor team members, and lead performance improvement initiatives with a day/midnight rotation. This full-time role offers leadership growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
Master’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
Three years' acute care clinical experience required.
Leadership experience preferred.
Appropriate clinical certification required.

Responsibilities

Supervises nursing and technical staff; assesses competency; oversees staffing and scheduling; evaluates performance; counsels staff.
Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
Functions as role model; demonstrates quality expertise and professional behaviors.
Directs, mentors and supports all levels of staff.
Develops, implements and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Identifies strategies to improve staff knowledge and professionalism.
Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements system-wide improvements.
