Position Overview: The Roadway Striping Technician is responsible for operating various types of pavement marking equipment related to long line striping on roads and highways. Responsibilities include reading roadway striping plans, loading/unloading equipment, maintaining safety gear, and assisting with traffic control. The role involves surface preparation, traveling, and working primarily night shifts with potential overtime and overnight stays, with paid travel and per diem allowances.

What you'll do:

• Perform physical tasks such as driving, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working from elevated platforms or ladders.
• Operate hand/power tools and long line striping machines.
• Work outdoors in various environmental conditions, maintaining safety awareness in traffic zones.
• Read and interpret construction plans and signage.
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, and complete required paperwork.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with possible overtime.
• Possess a valid driver’s license, pass background checks, drug tests, and MVR checks.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of laborer experience, preferably in pavement marking or signage.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to work independently and with others, with mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, especially in phosphate mines (preferred).
• Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy environments, and communicate in English.
