Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Finishing Operator support role focused on removing mandrels and staging hose for downstream processes. You will follow work instructions, ensure correct hose length tagging, and assist with transfer to the next stage.

Safety and efficiency are essential in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, basic math and hand tool skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the product for processing and apply the designated pressure for blow-out.
• Troubleshoot removal issues to maximize production quantity.
• Remove excess water from processed hose.
• Indicate length of hose for next stage processing and transfer mandrel for subsequent steps.
• Work overtime as required, including extended shifts and weekends.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the removal of mandrel and staging of hose for the Finishing Operator.

Essential Functions

• Based upon work instruction, prepare the product for processing, and apply the designated pressure for blow-out
• Troubleshoot removal issues to maximize quantity of production
• Remove excess water from processed hose
• Complete associated paperwork and indicate length of hose for next stage processing
• Transfer mandrel for next stage processing
• Ability to work overtime as required, including extended shifts & weekends, to meet business needs.

• Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
• Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
• Maintain production schedules.
• Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
• Other duties may be assigned at a later time

Organizational Relationships/Scope

• Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
• Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

Working Conditions

• High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
• Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
• Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
• Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
• Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
• Ability to work overtime, including short-notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.
