Job summary

Bethany Christian Services seeks a Parent Advocacy Case Manager to help families with life skills, home visitation, and supportive coaching across multiple programs. Role focuses on conflict resolution, education, and goal setting for clients referred by community resources.

Position is hybrid in Saint Louis, MO, with a commitment to faith-based service and a strong emphasis on confidentiality and family outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Human Services, Social Work or related field.
• Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• At least two years of experience in child welfare or life skills.
• Strong knowledge of the strength-based approach and interventions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide life skills services covering conflict resolution, family planning, career planning, self-sufficiency, education, health maintenance, and goal setting.
• Provide home visitation services and interventions for pregnant/newly parenting individuals and partners.
• Coaching and support in conflict resolution, career planning, self-sufficiency, education and other areas.
• Deliver life skills education to improve home safety, childcare, budgeting, transportation barriers, and community resource utilization.
• Complete paperwork within appropriate time frames.
• Maintain knowledge of agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
• Essential duties may vary by program/department.
• Participate in Bethany sponsored events as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

• Provide life skills services to include conflict resolution, family planning, career planning, selfsufficiency, education, health maintenance, environmental health, role modeling, child development, and goal setting for clients referred by community resources;
• Provide home visitation services and interventions to pregnant and newly parenting women and their partners using the strengths-based approach that helps to stabilize families in crisis;
• Provide coaching and support in conflict resolution, career planning, self-sufficiency, education, health maintenance, environmental health, role modeling, child development and goal setting for clients referred by community resources;
• Provide life skills education to clients whose goals may include improving home safety, child behavior management, identifying appropriate childcare, housekeeping, money management, budgeting for food, addressing barriers to transportation, assisting clients in utilization of community resource and over all self-improvement and family function;
• Complete paperwork within appropriate time frames;
• Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
• Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
• May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

• Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college;
• Master’s level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college, strongly preferred;
• At least two (2) years of experience in child welfare and/or life skills;
• Demonstrated knowledge of the strength-based approach and interventions;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated excellent assessment and crisis intervention skills;
• Prior work experience with multi-problem families in a home setting;
• Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
• Must be willing and able to work outside of normal business hours to include some evenings and weekends;
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
• Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
