Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Parent Advocacy Case Manager to support pregnant and parenting families through home visitation, conflict resolution coaching, and life skills education. The role emphasizes a strengths-based approach and building trusting relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
• Master's degree strongly preferred.
• At least two years of experience in child welfare or life skills; infant mental health endorsement preferred.
• Strong engagement and ability to establish trusting relationships.
• Knowledge of the strength-based approach and interventions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Crisis intervention skills valued.
• Experience with culturally diverse children in home settings.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Provide home visitation services and interventions to pregnant and newly parenting women and their partners using a strengths-based approach.
• Provide coaching and support in conflict resolution, career planning, self-sufficiency, education, health, and child development for clients referred by community resources.
• Provide life skills education to clients aiming to improve home safety, child behavior management, childcare, budgeting, and overall self-improvement.
• Complete paperwork within appropriate time frames.
• Stay abreast of agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
• Essential job responsibilities may vary by program/department.
• May participate in Bethany-sponsored events.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

• Provide home visitation services and interventions to pregnant and newly parenting women and their partners using a strengths-based approach that helps to stabilize families in crisis;
• Provide coaching and support in conflict resolution, career planning, self-sufficiency, education, health maintenance, environmental health, role modeling, child development and goal setting for clients referred by community resources;
• Provide life skills education to clients whose goals may include improving home safety, child behavior management, identifying appropriate childcare, housekeeping, money management,budgeting for food, addressing barriers to transportation, assisting clients in utilization of community resource and over all self-improvement and family function;
• Complete paperwork within appropriate time frames;
• Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
• Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
• May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

• Bachelor's level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college;
• Master's level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college, strongly preferred;
• At least two (2) years of experience in child welfare and/or life skills; Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
• Demonstrated strong engagement skills and ability to establish trusting relationships;
• Demonstrated knowledge of the strength-based approach and interventions;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated excellent assessment and crisis intervention skills;
• Prior work experience with culturally diverse children in a home setting;
• Provide acceptance of individual differences and offer humility working with culturally diverse families thorough understanding of the strength-based approach and interventions;
• Demonstrate a knowledge of infant and child development;
• Demonstrate a willing to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
• Must be willing and able to work outside of normal business hours to include some evenings and weekends;
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
• Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
