Job summary

The City of Waco is seeking a dedicated Streets Maintenance Worker to join our Public Works team in maintaining and repairing streets, roadways and infrastructure. The role involves a mix of unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks under basic supervision.

Required: HS diploma or GED, valid Texas Driver’s License upon hire. A minimum of 1 year of manual labor experience is preferred. The position may require after-hours work during emergencies.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License upon hire required.
• 1 year of manual labor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs unskilled and semiskilled manual labor to maintain and repair streets and infrastructure.
• Operates City vehicles and equipment as directed and sets up work zones.
• Inspects and reports safety issues; follows safety precautions and city policies.
• May respond afterhours during emergencies or city-wide events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the department.
• Maintains courteous interaction with residents and staff; protects confidentiality of work-related information.
